Friends of the Library to host Buy It Now Sale

Tired of staring at items you no longer want but are too nice to throw away? Looking to reduce the amount of “good find” collectibles in your possession? The Friends of the Berryville Library are holding a new type of fundraiser, a Buy It Now $5-$10-$20 Sale. This event will be held at the Berryville Public Library at 104 Spring Street from March 15 to March 19. The proceeds will be used to support the building of our new library. The fundraiser will showcase one or two tables filled with donated books, collectibles, food, homemade crafts, and other items. On Monday and Tuesday, all items will be $5; on Wednesday and Thursday all items will be $10; and on Friday, all items will be $20. Different items will be featured each day. How can you help? Longtime Berryville Library supporter and Historian of the Friends organization, Carol Ann Engskov, describes this event as “the perfect opportunity to get a jump on your spring cleaning.” She further added, “Search your brain and your house for items to donate. We want to sell everything. Think ‘Would I buy this’?” The donated items should be items in good condition valued between $5 and $20. Unique books, handmade crafts, and any type of collectible would make excellent auction items. If cooking is your preference, we will accept baked goods, such as pies, cakes, bread, brownies, and homemade candy. All food items should be brought in a take-home dish, nicely decorated or wrapped to look appealing. Donations can be dropped off at the Berryville Library through March 8. If you are donating food items, please call and leave a message for Carol Ann Engskov at (870) 423-4857 She will return your call and let you know when to bring your donations to the library. Please call or donate by March 8. Don’t forget to plan a trip to the library every day the week of the auction to see what is on the table each day. Shop early each day for the best selection! Remember all proceeds support the Friends of the Library and their effort to build a new library for Berryville. If you haven’t already, become a member of the Friends and join our efforts in the community.
